Wednesday's thoughts

I have been thinking a lot these past months about many things.I have also started to open up to and talk to one of the gals I work with. She is an amazing strong christian women who struggles daily with trying to be more Godly just like I think most of us do.
we have shared about our growing up and our low self esteem we both have.We are both so quick to praise each other for things but quicker to say how we our self are not so good.
Why is it is is so easy to praise others but so hard to accept praise? It is so easy to see the good in others but so hard to see the good in ourselves? Is it the way we were raised that keeps us that way? Thinking if we say yes I am good I may appear to others as having an ego problem?
She gave me a sheet of paper with some poweful phrases on it.I taped to my bathroom mirror to be able to read daily, I will share just a few of them with you...
Who am I in Christ....
I am God's child.
I am God's friend
I have been adopted as God's child.
I have been redeemed and forgiven of my sins.

I am assured that all things work together for good.
I cannot be separated from the love of God.
I can find grace and mercy in time of need.

I am God' coworker.
I am God's workmanship.
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH GOD WHO STRENGTHENS ME!!!!!!!!

And as she said as she handed this to me,maybe you will not believe it if I tell you but,.........this is a promise from God.
I think I have found a great friend whom I can have some great talks with about faith. Thanks be to God!!

In closing I have one more thing. My manager and I were talking about learning the job and all it takes. She said an instructor who was teaching her in nurses training reminded her......Remember how long it took you to learn to tie your shoes good.It is the same way with our jobs,we may be able to do it but it takes time before we have it down good.

God has blessed you much with this woman!

I fully relate to your post. It is very hard to accept compliments, but I like to give them to others.

When it is really difficult to think positively about myself I remember that the Bible says I am God's workmanship, and to quote a pithy little saying: God don't make no junk!

I would absolutely LOVE to have a panda bear as a pet!!!!! Even with an odd haircut!

I agree - it is hard to accept compliments, but a lot easier to give them.

It is awesome that the Lord has given you this lady to be a source of encouragement and strength in hard times.

I've posted something for you ... check it out!! :)

I think you are so awesome Mr. Bruce. You are a tiger to me! Meow. I think it's great too that you have someone at work who shares the sames views and values. Sounds like a good friend.

I'm so glad you have found such a wonderful Godly friend at work!

I also have struggled with issues of low self-esteem all my life...which is why I am constantly pouring praise all over my daughter -- building her up constantly so she doesn't deal with these issues!
