I thought you said

As I was helping one of our more confussed residents today she gave me a huge laugh.I was taking her to the bathroom to toilet her and wash her and dress her.I was getting ready to have her sit down on the toilet,so I had taken her panties down and was getting her nightie pullend up.I had her lined up with the toilet and said okay now sit Mable.Without missing a beat she spit on the floor.Fighting back a huge laughter I bit my lower lip and said no Mable I said sit.She replied OH I thought you said spit.
Sure am lucky she did not think I said the sh first followed by the it.
For you slow ones out there put the sh and the it together.Ohhh now you gewt it right????
Anyway just one more adventure in the saga of All in a days work.
And you think you have a fun job!!!!!

More laughs

"WOMEN'S REVENGE
'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet , I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.
'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me,
and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

Just for laughs

A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be
so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.
'The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain
God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you !"

Loving it!!!!
Fall is in the air.Warm, but not hot days.Cool evenings.Leaves changing.High School football on Friday evenings.Leaves falling. No need to run the A.C..Bon Fires.

The hurting.

Over the past several weeks my heart has been going out to many families who are hurting.Without going into any details our church has seen a rapid growth as many families have been greatly hurt by an other church that was their church home.
It brings such a vivid memory of what brought me to the church I presently attend.
As I was sitting in worship today seated next to one of these families a flood of emotions flowed through my mind.
It is my hope and prayer that we will be able to reach out to these families and help heal their hurts. They may be with us for a long time or maybe just until some issues are settled. What ever it is it is my hope and desire that we be there with open arms to lift these people up.I pray that God uses me in a special way to step out of my comfort zone and talk to these people, and to make them feel welcomed.I only hope I can make them feel as welcomed and loved as I was when I was hurting and started attending .I pray that God gives me the right words and to refrain from sticking my foot in my mouth.( I've been known to do that).
It is almost like loosing a loved one when you leave family and friends from your church.Let us be their new family.
I encourage you if you see a new visitor in your church to welcome them and shower them with Gods love. They may just be in need of a warm smile, or just a friendly hello.
Gee there you had your second sermon of the week.
Hugs

prayers are needed

Sadness struck our town this week.A 7 year old boy died very suddenly this week.He was at school and had asked to get a drink of water because he was not feeling well.As the teacher was taking him for a drink of water he fell into her arms.He was taken to the office where the ambulance was called. He was rushed to the local hospital where he died a short time later.(An autopsy is being done).
I do not know the family at all,but I ask you to pray for them.He comes from a single parent home and has two older siblings.
His mothers name is Maria.
I just ask for prayer for her and her family as well as the staff and students at the school.
I talked to my neighbor who is a teacher at the school and she said it has been a very hard time for everyone.
So please say a prayer for all of these people.
it is my hope and desire that as a small town we reach out to this Hispanic family and shower them with love and support.

The chicken across the street.

I know I use the following expression often but it seems to fit so many residents so well.

One of our more pleasantly confused residents sits by her window looking outside most of the day. When we enter her room she is always talking about the chickens across the street by the barn. Now mind you, our nursing home is smack dab in the middle of town just on the edge of the business district. When she first said this I figured she was just seeing some lawn ornament that was a chicken so I looked to see it.No nothing, no ornament,no chickens nothing at all.
Now this has been going on for several weeks and again today she pointed and said look at the chickens. And like a crazy darn fool I looked out the window to see if there were any.And again NOTHING,NOT A ONE NO CHICKENS!!!!! So i decided to ask some more questions,I had some free time and I wanted to know more.
I asked her ,so how many chickens dare there? She told me around twenty of them.I then asked what were they going to do with them,to which she responded, well butcher them!!Like I was to know????LOLOLOLOL
As some of the staff was eating today we were talking about this and one of the house keepers admitted she too keeps looking for those chickens too.
I should know better. This comes from the same women who one day showed me a picture of a cockier spaniel and said that was her new grand child and she what a cute thing she is.
Yeah I know some people (myself included) think of their pets as children. However I kinda wonder about this one.
Oh the fun of work. Seldom a day goes by without at least one good laugh.
